Are women better managers?

This is entirely my finding and I begged to be forgiven if it be wrong.

It has been statistically proven that women are better managers. However I realize that 80 - 90 percent of management theoreticians have been male. Is this because women are too smart to come up with such duh theories? Although women are better managers it is in my opinion that they are not all that great leaders only because men do not like working under women. Most men are control freaks and if they are not I don’t think that’s very manly. At this moment let us not forget few of the women who have been able to “richly” contribute to the success our existence.

Women rarely make good managers, but if they do they really lack people skills. Dont have to go very far, look at the women who run the pit. And another thing, women who work under them tend to hate thier managers.

Why should a man stand in the way of women who are naively patting themselves on the back after reading something based on assumptions and generalizations?

Why should a woman be nothing short of a 'manager', a political leader, an astronaut or a fighter pilot; in order to be considerd "liberated" and equal to a man?

why bother comparing desks and chairs?

There is no point in trying to struggle with facts of reality when they are so evident. Statistics do not reveal anything when it comes to matters such as these.

Pax, you are entitled to your opinion…. In mine, men are just aids for reproduction. I do agree with the part about desks and chairs, though.

So, "men are just aids for reproduction"??? then I guess women are simply 'aides pour la reproduction', heh heh.

Shit happens when you've got ur foot in ur mouth!

Thanks for the rude comments from d. I don’t wish that he knows that he is wrong.

Look… lets not get into a gender based argument here ok. It’s the last thing I want to get hooked onto. I agree that the man may be superior in many ways but it is a fact that they are really not needed except for that one reason. Goes for all species!

Can you even think of anything else that we need these losers for? If you can, you wouldn’t even be arguing here in the first place.

And let’s not fight with nature… Hate it!

Of course, What have we got to argue about, with an enlightened person like you. You know it all!.

(btw, it's about time you take that foot out of your mouth, at least to put the other one in)

Hey Mr. Offended!
It is not in my mild nature to make sexist remarks as this. It is on a good note that I posted this one. However, I guess that bad experiences in the past have lead me to a state of making generalised conclusions. This is a totally unproductive conversation. And if you enjoy getting me annoyed you may please continue to please yourself!

Maybe they are, maybe they arent, maybe it has nothing to do with gender anymore.

That said, looking at the person who is managing our country makes me smile and wonder, how this is possible.

Finally, someone seems to be getting slightly closer to the point of this message. This blog wasn’t about the ‘cans’ and ‘cannot dos’ of men and women. The only question that I was trying to make clear was that although women have been generally proven to be better managers they still haven’t come up with theories of how to manage.

However, Inham, I think you are talking in the lines of leadership and not management. The whole Sheppard and commando issue is another entire topic of discussion. And yes, autocratic leadership has proven to be more effective. Look around… Malaysia, Singapore etc.
Both leaders and managers get things done but “how” is the difference. Leaders inspire, managers instruct. It might be worth reading my original post which says that women are not better leaders.

Egoistic as men are they have seemed to have lost the total point. And coming back to the women and men issue I guess it might be worth looking at this link.
