Lights... Camera... Action!

The Kandy trip went well; all in all. Prefer travelling in the nights so I can imagine a night safari through an African jungle! (Except for the fact that reading “Routes” and “Queen” really put me off about Africa). I used to maintain a personal journal ever since I was six. There’s a huge dust borne collection of mine somewhere. It brings back my whole life when I read through them. Laughing at my own weird experiences as I relive them through the pages of a book. Blogging is kinda ruining (or may be improving) that for me little by little. Told the students to do the same about the journal. It helps a lot. It helps to get rid of those inner feelings that really aren’t worth telling anyone about. It helps to be 100% honest and truthful. It helps to build character and improve communication skills like spelling, grammar and style. As you go on there are more benefits that one may realize that come from a lifeless soul mate. Most of all it helps to relieve yourself and to make time for what we call leisure. Not many things to do during leisure in the modern world. Less leisure time, in the first place. Transport has increased in its speed as hours have decreased in their duration. This makes me recall a childhood essay on “How I spend my leisure time”. In it I expressed about a million things that I would like to be doing. Also, told some students and friends to write up vision and mission statements for themselves. After all, you can’t learn how to manage a business if you can’t learn how to manage yourself.

Being the practical minded person I am, it is amazing the number of crazy people I know. Here are some of the very creative vision and mission statements that they managed to come up with.

Vision – To be the most looked up upon person
Mission – To do all working out necessary to get tall.

Vision – To be perfect
Mission – To learn from mistakes and to never repeat them

Vision – To marry the cutest guy to ever walk the surface of the earth
Mission – To find him

Vision – To become a scientist cum mathematician
Mission – To learn to be a good dancer

Vision – Can’t think of one
Mission – Cant think of that either

Vision – To educate and make wise other people
Mission – To be educated and wise, myself

Vision – To make Pizza in a very unique recipe so that you don’t get the bread at the bottom and the crust around it.
Mission – To learn cookery

Vision – To be the best a man can ever be
Mission – To go to college… Btw which college teachers that?
And believe me, they sounded quite serious about it. I’ve been typing this at the break of dawn and I can just hear my alarm going off. Oh dear, I have the ironing to do… C ya!
